I can't really describe what I created here... The idea for this "scene" was born on a post-it, when I was just sketching a bit to see what dystopian worlds one can build with just generic skyscrapers.

I tried building this scene in Blender, with some procedual nodes. Basically, the whole scene is just one sphere and one rectangular prism that is being copied and placed randomly on the sphere. It worked, but it wasn't looking as cool as I thought it would.

This rendered scene then lay around until I recently saw a Youtube video about Floyd–Steinberg dithering. I liked the retro look, so I made a small python script that applied the dithering to an image. It looked neat, but I thought about the potential for this on animated scenes. So I modified the script to apply a contrast filter with increasing strength to a series of frames, and exported them to a GIF. And that is what you see on the top. I find that this music track fits the vibe pretty good.
